11th annual seminar/bootcamp to get NW racers current with critical racing technology

“Racing industry leaders to reveal latest trends and technology that will move to the winners circle and keep you there”

Do you follow the leader in racing by using the same parts, tools and techniques used by everyone else in your class, or are you an innovator who seeks success by gaining “The Unfair Advantage?”

Dear Fellow Racing Enthusiast:

Don’t kid yourself; racing is all about exploiting the latest parts, tools, and techniques to gain an advantage over your opponents.  This has always been true, and if you think I’m wrong, stop reading this letter right now and go take a nap.  The question is really how can you quickly and efficiently gain the knowledge you need and apply that knowledge to your racing program when you are always so busy working on the car between all the other pressures and tasks in your life.

We’ve made it easy by bringing the very best and brightest racing industry leaders to you in the form of our 11th annual high performance racing seminar.  This seminar is so jammed pack full of valuable information that many call it a bootcamp.  One day, over 8 hours of racing information that would take you weeks and months to read and try to apply.

It is like pulling teeth to get the very best experts to come to the NW because they are very busy since they are so knowledgeable.  But we’ve pulled some strings, made countless phone calls to get this team assembled this year all so that you can gain a slight advantage over your competitors who believe they are way too smart to waste their Saturday attending a seminar.  You know who they are; the guys who are all talk with no results.  But lets not talk about them, let’s talk about how you are going to benefit from the knowledge that will be shared.

So here goes, pulling the curtain on THE biggest, baddest, boldest seminar in 11 years!

Terry Borcheller, Grand Am Champion and Super driver

At the request of previous attendees of our seminar, many of whom are veteran racers, we have asked Terry Borcheller to speak and share his driving secrets.  It isn’t often that racers have the opportunity to learn at the feet of a truly talented driver.  Unless you never read a racing magazine or what sports cars on TV, you’ll know that over the past several seasons, Terry Borcheller is nearly always on the podium.  He’s driven and won championships driving a BMW-M3, T-1 Saleen Mustang, GTO Saleen, SRP II Lola B2K – Nissan; and DP Doren Chevrolet.  As of 2005 he has 57 professional wins!  He is tremendously skilled and his talent is sought out by the top race teams to drive for then or do testing.  OK, OK so Terry is a big named star, what’s he got to offer you?

First, Terry is a great speaker who will be most enjoyable to listen to, but most importantly he is going to share his personal racing tips and secrets that will improve your driving.  That’s it and I believe that is enough.  Everyone of us needs a coach or at the least refresher training on how to drive really, really fast.  So put your egos aside for a bit and come out to have Terry share his knowledge.  Knowledge that won’t be learned by your competitor who stays at home and knowledge that will be enhanced by the fact that he will be answering all your hard questions too.

Arnie Kuhns, President of the SFI Foundation

February 9th 2002, Arnie Kuhns left the Pomona California NHRA Winter Nationals and came to Tacoma to speak with an enthusiastic group of NW racers at our 7th annual seminar.  No one was really excited to hear about an organization, SFI, that tests safety equipment and that has successfully forced a 2 year age limit on the use of seat harnesses.  Two hours later that group of NW racers voted Arnie Kuhns one of the most interesting and informative speakers we’ve ever had speak.  Arnie is going to tell about racecar and racer safety from the unbiased point of view as the president of a world renown company that tests safety gear for effectiveness.

Yeah I know that safety is only important if you have an accident but it doesn’t help you go fast, unless of course it sidelines you for the rest of the season due to injury or worse results in a loss of income while you recover.  Arnie’s talk is guaranteed to inform, educate and perhaps even save your life.  If you don’t wanna hear Arnie tell you like it is, perhaps your wife, husband or children would like you to listen.  I’m gonna leave it at that.  You will enjoy his lively discussion and have fun in the process.

Tim Gray, West Coast Brake Pad Guru from Porterfield Enterprises in Costa Mesa, California

Few products change faster in racing than the product that makes you stop.  I’m talking of course about brake pads.  The hot setup for brake pads just a few years ago are not even available today and you need to know what’s hot, what works and most importantly why.  You may have heard Tim’s talk 3 years ago, but I assure you that what he has to say today, you need to know.  Tim will reveal new compounds from Hawk and Raybestos and how you can benefit over your competitors in their use.

I can’t stomach the thought of one of our clients using old technology pads due to ignorance or because that is what his/her friends are using.

The information Tim is going to present could save you hours and hours of testing time by helping you select the right pad compound for your car the first time.  Plus you’ll learn about rotors, pad and rotor combinations, and how the two work together to improve your car’s stopping power.  To go fast, you have to be able to stop fast and consistently.

Even if you race a vintage car or just do high performance lapping days in your street car, the brake pad and rotor information will make you way smarter than your competition as you not only stop faster but gain confidence in what is going on with your brakes, and learn to increase rotor life.

As mentioned before, Tim spoke 3 years ago and was extremely well received by all the attendees who raved at how much useful information they learned.  The whole cost of the seminar is worth it, just for the secrets Tim will share.

Roger Caddell, Data Acquisition Specialist for Victory Lane Data

Everyone talks about data acquisition, some club racers have a system and most agree that they don’t really understand how to use it to gain an advantage.  Well, Roger Caddell is going to change all that.  Roger is going to offer an introduction to data acquisition and show you how to use basic data supplied by most systems.  This will help you to understand what the systems do, what data is obtained, but most importantly, what to do with the data collected.

You’ll find Roger’s talk extremely valuable even if you never plan to use a data acquisition system in your car because it will help you to understand what data acquisition is all about which at the very least will enhance your viewing of pro racing on TV by understanding what the teams are doing with the data and how drivers are using data to go faster.

I promise you’ll enjoy Roger’s talk, and it will be most interesting to see his data concerning fast laps at Portland and Pacific Raceways.  Roger has been presenting data acquisition seminars for AiM Sports and offers a longer class if you feel you would like more information than that presented.

Speaking of more information, all our speakers will be around for the day to answer your specific questions if you feel you need special one-on-one time.  This is like having private tutoring sessions.  No one else in the racing community offers this kind of instruction and it is all yours just by attending.

But wait there is even more.

A special lunchtime guest will be added soon to the day’s activities.  I promise this speaker will be exciting, entertaining and a most interesting racing personality.

This year’s seminar will be held all day Saturday February 18th at the University Place Town Hall near Tacoma.  This beautiful facility has plenty of free parking and is warm and comfortable.

Your registration fee will include coffee, rolls, juice and water when you arrive.  A hot catered lunch will be served and snacks in the afternoon.  In other words, your day will be complete.

The cost of the seminar is FREE if you learn and apply just one performance secret that propels you to the winner’s circle without hours of testing and frustrating trial and error guessing.  Plus you get to spend a cold, rainy day with a few like minded racers from Canada, Washington and Oregon who simply must learn the inside secrets of racing you can’t get anywhere else on the planet!  Considering just one idea or technique could save you thousands of dollars but more importantly enhance your racing program 10 times over….the price is a minor consideration at $347.00 (far less than you’ll spend on a race weekend.)

WAIT!  Register before January 23rd (that’s just two short weeks away) and we’ll knock 50 bucks off the fee.  Oh BABY just $297.00 if you hurry, now that is a deal.

If you own your own racing or performance business or if you are a paid mechanic this seminar is tax deductible.  You should be able to write off the full tuition and travel cost.  After all if you are in a business you can write off business expenses.  That mean the IRS will help with the tuition.

Guarantee

I’m so confident that this seminar will be of tremendous value to you that I guarantee your satisfaction or I’ll refund your entire tuition and you get to keep the handouts.  If after attending you don’t think there was any value to you, just let me know and I’ll refund your tuition.  The risk is all on me but it is one I willingly accept because I know this seminar will be everything you expect and much more.

You Must Act Quickly

Seating is limited and you don’t want to get left out.  When the room is filled it is filled.  Plus by registering before January 23rd you’ll save $50.  As you know, the racing season starts long before the first race and this seminar is the perfect date to start off your program for 2006.  Sometimes is takes one small decision in a fleeting moment to positively change the outcome of one’s racing program.  I promise you your decision to join us in February will do exactly that.

 Yours for Racing,

 Andy Collins
